DJ Mark Ronson reconsiders Michael Jackson friendship

DJ Mark Ronson has openly discussed reevaluating his past friendship with Michael Jackson in light of the allegations against the late pop icon. Ronson, now 50 years old, first met the King of Pop when he was a young teenager.

Reflecting on an evening spent in a hotel room with Michael Jackson at the age of 13, Ronson acknowledged the need to revisit their interactions following various accusations made by others.

Over the years, multiple allegations have surfaced against Jackson, including those brought by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in the documentary “Leaving Neverland 2.” The two individuals claim they were victims of sexual abuse by the singer during their childhood and have filed lawsuits against MJJ Ventures and MJJ Productions, accusing them of negligence in protecting them from Jackson.

Despite vehemently denying any misconduct allegations before his passing in 2009, Jackson’s legacy remains clouded by controversy. Ronson, who was introduced to Jackson by Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, revealed details about attending an afterparty in Jackson’s hotel room with a group of around 50 people.

In his new book, Ronson maintains that nothing inappropriate occurred between him and Jackson, although he admitted the moments seemed peculiar. Recalling the after-party, Ronson described Jackson’s fascination with throwing wet toilet paper at parked cars, a behavior he now finds surreal.

Even at a young age, Ronson’s focus was on music production, aiming to gather inspiration from his encounters with Jackson. However, he lamented that no creative spark emerged from their interactions. In light of the ongoing allegations, Ronson has revisited that period multiple times, reassessing it through a different perspective.

Acknowledging the complexities of the situation, Ronson emphasized that he found nothing alarming or inappropriate in his interactions with Jackson during that particular night.
