“Series of Dog Attacks Rock Brazil and the US”

An elderly woman is in critical condition after a vicious attack by her seven Rottweilers. The 77-year-old was taken to the hospital after the dogs, which were reportedly out of control, launched the assault in Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Saturday. The incident occurred shortly after a 70-year-old man was killed by four pit bulls in Minas do Leao, also in Rio Grande do Sul.

The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered severe injuries to her nose, ear, and various lower limbs, with a portion of her scalp torn off. The Rottweilers belonged to her and were later taken into custody by the Municipal Guard.

Dr. Renato Fetter, the attending physician, emphasized the woman’s fortunate survival despite losing part of her nose, sustaining a nasal fracture, having her ear severely damaged, and facing mutilations on her lower limbs.

In another tragic incident, market trader Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, 63, lost his life in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, after being attacked by two pit bulls a week earlier. His family paid tribute to him following the devastating event.

Recently, a one-week-old infant, Jason Anthony Weaver, tragically died after being attacked by the family’s dog, a husky-pit bull mix. Despite efforts to save the baby’s life, he succumbed to blunt-force trauma wounds. The dog was captured and placed in quarantine as authorities ruled the incident as accidental, leaving the parents grieving over their loss.

This distressing event follows the death of a five-month-old boy who was fatally mauled by a dog in Florida after his mother left him under the care of relatives on her birthday. Sheriff Mike Chitwood expressed deep sorrow over the heartbreaking incident, highlighting the need for a 10-day appeal period regarding the dog’s potential euthanasia.

Upon entering the residence, the great-grandmother discovered the baby alongside their 130lb Great Dane and husky mix, covered in blood and unresponsive. Despite immediate medical intervention, the child could not be saved, leading to profound grief within the family.

Sheriff Chitwood, visibly emotional, described the situation as a tragic loss that would forever haunt the mother and grandparents involved. The family now faces the difficult reality of mourning a loved one due to a sudden and devastating turn of events.
