The incident at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, where terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie attacked worshippers, occurred on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Mahmood reassured the Jewish community of adequate security measures in place to allow them to resume their daily routines without fear.
