A 20-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, has been arrested in connection with a probe involving the trafficking of cocaine from Canada to Hong Kong. Authorities have charged the individual with exporting a Schedule 1 substance and conspiring to commit an indictable offense. The man made a court appearance in Kitchener for a bail hearing.
The investigation, initiated by the Waterloo Regional Police Service in September 2025, began when a 20-year-old woman from Cambridge was apprehended at Hong Kong International Airport with 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine in her possession. Recently, local law enforcement, in collaboration with various partners, arrested a man from Markham, Ontario, believed to be linked to the alleged drug network. This network is suspected of aiding the Cambridge woman in traveling from Toronto to Hong Kong. The investigation remains ongoing.
