Riley Keough and Ben Smith-Petersen have quietly welcomed their second child, as confirmed by a representative. Details about the newborn’s name and gender have not been disclosed.
The couple first met in 2012 on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road and began dating the following year while filming in Australia. They got engaged in 2014 and tied the knot in Napa Valley in 2015.
Their first child, a daughter named Tupelo, was born through a surrogate in August 2022. The news of her birth was revealed when Smith-Petersen mentioned her in a letter during Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral in January 2023.
Recently, a source revealed that Riley, known for her role in Daisy Jones & The Six, is now a proud mother of two alongside her stuntman husband.
In a previous interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2023, Riley shared how she was certain about her relationship with Ben from the start. She expressed that by their second date, she had envisioned a future with him.
While she acknowledged the uncertainties that lie ahead, Riley emphasized the strong connection she felt with Ben early on, even before exchanging “I love you’s.”
In August 2023, Riley disclosed her daughter’s name, honoring her late grandfather and brother. The three-year-old is named Tupelo Storm Smith-Petersen, with “Tupelo” paying homage to Elvis Presley’s birthplace and “Storm” in memory of her late brother, Benjamin Storm Keough.
Riley also praised surrogacy as a remarkable act of selflessness during a recent interview, highlighting the compassion of women who choose to help others in this way.
