“Body Found in Prince Albert Woods Amid Search for Missing Teen”

Prince Albert law enforcement reported the discovery of human remains during a quest for a missing adolescent who vanished in June. The search, involving the city’s public works, fire departments, and Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, led to the finding of a body close to the 300 block of 40th Street East, according to police statements. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday to establish the individual’s identity and ascertain the circumstances of death. The deceased person is suspected to be 14-year-old Peyton Flett, as indicated by information shared with Flett’s mother, Danica Moore, who opted not to elaborate further. The Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, along with the police major crimes and forensic identification units, are collaborating on the ongoing investigation into the suspicious death. Earlier, police, the Prince Albert Grand Council, Shoal Lake Cree Nation, and Flett’s guardians appealed for public assistance in locating her at a press conference. Flett was last seen on June 16 or 17 at Marquis Road and Central Avenue near Northern Lights Casino. Law enforcement officials continue to examine the wooded area near 40th Street, maintaining traffic restrictions in the vicinity and advising people to steer clear of the area. Additional updates will be shared as soon as they are obtainable.
