Dolly Parton had to cancel her appearance at Dollywood due to health reasons related to kidney stones, as advised by her doctor. The renowned 79-year-old country music icon made a virtual appearance instead, expressing regret for missing the debut of a new attraction at the park.
In a pre-recorded video, Dolly shared, “I had a kidney stone causing significant discomfort, leading to an infection that necessitated rest based on medical advice. Despite my excitement for the event, I had to follow my doctor’s guidance and refrain from attending Dollywood today.”
Acknowledging the disappointment of her fans, she reassured them by saying, “I will be fine, but today is not the day for me to be there.”
This setback comes during a challenging period for Dolly, marked by the recent passing of her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean. Reflecting on their deep connection, she expressed gratitude for the love they shared for over six decades. Additionally, earlier this year, she mourned the loss of her brother David, adding to the grief of losing three other siblings in the past.
Despite these personal losses affecting her work, Dolly remains dedicated to her music and creative pursuits, even though progress may be slower. She mentioned that her recent bereavements have temporarily stalled some of her projects, but she remains open to new inspiration and ideas.
