“Deer Crashes Through Van Windshield in Germany”

A van driver had a narrow escape when a deer crashed through the windshield during a terrifying accident. The incident occurred in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, on Tuesday morning. The deer suddenly jumped in front of the 29-year-old driver’s Opel van at 7 am, leading to a full-force collision that sent the animal into the cabin. Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries, while the deer had to be euthanized by a hunter at the scene due to severe injuries.

The collision caused significant damage to the van, with repair costs estimated at €15,000 (£13,100), as reported by Bild. Firefighters were called to remove the vehicle, and the road was closed for an hour for cleanup.

Authorities in Germany are issuing warnings to drivers to remain vigilant for wildlife, especially on rural roads, emphasizing the sudden and fatal nature of such incidents.

In a separate incident last month in Dublin, a horse broke free from a cart during a funeral procession before colliding head-on with a car. The incident took place in Clondalkin, a suburb west of Dublin, where a horse and carriage hearse were part of the procession.

As the cart being pulled by horses sped up, attempts were made to divert traffic, but it ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle, causing shock and alarm among witnesses. Following the incident, an animal rescue charity called for an investigation, condemning the event as an act of lawlessness and cruelty.

The driver’s immediate reaction to the August 11 incident was captured on video, expressing shock at the unfolding events. Another video showed the horse with facial swelling and stitches, with hopes for a successful recovery expressed by a person in the video.
